Love is magic. When our hearts are filled with love, everything seems more beautiful, and the world around us becomes more colorful and bright. When we are in love, we seem to float above the ground, carried by our feelings. Then we usually find thousands of reasons to make our better half happy, just to see the beloved smile. A flower, a kind word, a shared moment—every gesture feeds butterflies in our stomach and makes us feel loved and appreciated. It is important to find time to say “I love you” and to show it.
They say that love is the greatest force in the world. And its faithful companion since time immemorial is wine. So, what could be better than celebrating Valentine’s Day with a glass of aromatic wine with your loved one? February 14 is not just a day on the calendar. It is a reminder to raise a toast to true love. In today’s article, we will tell you about the favorite holiday of wine and love and how we impressed the guests of our hotel on Valentine’s Day.
Did you know that in many places around the world, the special day for lovers is celebrated in different ways? Here, in our homeland, we combine Valentine’s Day and Trifon Zarezan. Both lovers and winemakers celebrate. On February 14, pruning is carried out in Bulgarian vineyards for fertility and a good harvest. But how is the holiday celebrated in other cultures?
In Japan, for example, it is customary for only men to receive gifts, and the gesture is returned to women on March 14. In Denmark, there are other customs associated with Valentine’s Day, according to which dried white flowers are given as gifts. Italians give gifts that can be eaten later, and Spaniards in relationships are obliged to give red roses to their halves. In Austria, young couples use this day to introduce their families to their partners. In Wales, there is a tradition of giving padlocks, which symbolise hearts.
And so, love can be expressed with different words and gestures in different languages, but its magic remains the same—warm, strong, and eternal. Regardless of culture and traditions, people around the world always find ways to celebrate this beautiful day of love. Sometimes it is through gentle words, other times through small gestures, but always with love.
At Park Hotel Kaylaka, this day was truly magical. It is always wonderful when we meet couples in love. Whether they are on a Valentine’s Day vacation or have chosen us for their wedding in Pleven, we take their love as our mission. On this year’s Valentine’s Day, we welcomed them in the cosiness and atmosphere of our restaurant, decorated in the spirit of the holiday.
Rose petals, selected wines, hearts, and loving glances made the evening an unforgettable experience. The special Valentine’s Day dinner13 was accompanied by the gentle violin of Chavdar Valkov. With his talent and professionalism, he managed to create a fairytale atmosphere that invited lovers to dance. The entertainment continued with a DJ program. The whole evening was filled with laughter and romance, and it was a real pleasure for us.
